Commitment and the Feminine Journey

The feminine journey is the most committed I know.

It is commitment to the breath.

The intention.

The softening.

Over and over and over without any big reward.

No quick hits.

Big breakthroughs.

180 degree changes.

There is no finish line for her to cross.

No point at which she’s made it.

She trains in the quiet moments.

Committing to the silent peace in the morning.

The deeper belly breath in her meditation.

The moments where she says no thank you.

She commits to exposing her heart and feeling deep longing.

To opening over and over and over again, never putting armour over what she knows is her greatest power.

She trains in the most intimate moments in the bedroom, consciously putting down her sword. Taking responsibility for her own opening and pleasure, surrendering to the magic of her lover.

She commits to listening when there’s seemingly nothing to hear.

To the flavours, the emotions and the energy - the things that are not so easily felt.

She commits to the very things that she is told aren’t important, while resisting the temptation of speed, greed and success that she’s told will make life worth living.

It’s not an easy path.

It doesn’t end with awards or recognition and it often goes unnoticed.

But the reward is in the moments where she chooses.

When because of her surrender, she can taste God on her lover’s lips.

Because of her clarity, she can say No without an ounce of resentment, judgement or fear.

Because of her trust, she can feel held by the simple summer breeze.

Because of her openness, she can heal the hearts of others with the deep gaze of her eyes.

Her family knows. Her lover knows. Her children know. The world knows when the feminine warrior commits. They just may not know it was her.
